Ho Chi Minh City plans to auction 13.8 hectares of land in Thu Thiem before October – VnExpress

Among the land plots put up for auction, there are two urban-level service land plots covering nearly 10.7 hectares, which account for the majority of the auctioned land fund, including plot 7-1 spanning over 74,390 square meters and plot 1-12 spanning nearly 32,000 square meters.

The remaining six plots range in size from 700 square meters to over 10,000 square meters, primarily consisting of residential land and mixed-use residential-commercial-service land in functional area number 3. This is a land group that can be developed into apartment, commercial, and service projects in the core of the Thu Thiem urban area.

The land plots are located in the central core of Thu Thiem – an urban area oriented to become the new financial, commercial, and service center of Ho Chi Minh City. The auction is expected to attract investors to participate in developing large-scale residential, commercial, and service projects.

According to the plan, the city will complete legal procedures, determine starting prices, select an auction organizing unit, and implement the auction of land use rights before October 10. The process is carried out through four stages, from preparing documents, organizing the auction, and recognizing the results to handing over the land to the winning investors after they fulfill their financial obligations.

The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee requests relevant departments and agencies to coordinate closely during the implementation process, ensuring compliance with legal regulations and preventing further prolonged delays. The Department of Agriculture and Environment is assigned to take the lead in monitoring the progress, advising on the auction plan, starting prices, and procedures for recognizing the auction results.

The An Khanh Ward People’s Committee is required to prepare a plan for the auction of land use rights, while the Land Fund Development Center organizes the implementation of auction procedures according to regulations.

In addition to the land fund in Thu Thiem, Ho Chi Minh City also plans to auction 42 other land plots this year with a total area of over 2.59 million square meters managed by the Land Fund Development Center, previously distributed across Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, and Ba Ria – Vung Tau.

The Thu Thiem New Urban Area was approved for planning in 1996 with a scale of 930 hectares, located on the East bank of the Saigon River, opposite the old center of District 1. According to the new orientation, this area will be developed into a modern international financial, commercial, service, and administrative center of Ho Chi Minh City.
