Matt Damon, the lead actor of the blockbuster movie The Odyssey, owns a multi-million-dollar home collection in New York and California, USA.
The movie The Odyssey premiered in Vietnam on July 17 and was released in many countries around the world. After a week of release, the film grossed over 322 million USD. The role of Odysseus marks a new project for actor Matt Damon in his nearly three-decade acting career.
In addition to acting, Matt Damon has spent about 33.7 million USD investing in real estate in the US over 6 years, including a Brooklyn Heights penthouse (16.7 million USD), a Bedford estate (8.5 million USD), and a West Hollywood apartment (8.5 million USD).
Previously, he sold two properties in Miami Beach and Pacific Palisades.

Waterfront estate in Miami Beach
One of Matt Damon’s first large-scale properties was located on North Bay Road, La Gorce, Miami Beach. In 2005, the actor bought the main house for about 10.3 million USD, then spent another 4.2 million USD to acquire the adjacent lot.

The construction area is about 1,180 square meters. In addition to the main house, the grounds feature a 3-bedroom guest house, a swimming pool, a spa, a pool house, an outdoor kitchen, a terrace, and a private dock. Inside, there is a movie theater and a wine cellar.
The spacious courtyards and terraces face the water, creating a direct view of the bay. The dock allows access to the property by water, while the outbuildings accommodate guests without affecting the main house.

Miami was also associated with the period when Damon started his family. He met Luciana Barroso in this city while filming Stuck on You. The two married in 2005, the same year the estate was acquired.
Damon once listed the property for nearly 20 million USD. In December 2014, the estate was sold for more than 15.3 million USD, slightly higher than the amount he previously spent to own the two lots.
Villa in Pacific Palisades
Before moving his primary residence to New York, Damon and his family lived for nearly 10 years in a Pacific Palisades villa, Los Angeles. The actor bought this villa for 15 million USD in 2012.

The 3-story building covers an area of more than 1,250 square meters, including 7 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms. The central space is a double-height atrium with a vaulted ceiling about 10.7 meters high. The architect combined wood, natural stone, and glass panels to bring light deep inside. Large glass systems also connect the main rooms with the courtyard and the pool.
The living spaces include a living room with a fireplace, an indoor-outdoor dining area, and a kitchen finished in mahogany and bluestone. The design aims for simultaneous use for family living and entertaining guests.

The entertainment area features a movie theater, a game room, a bar, and a wine cellar. The property also includes an office, a gym, and a massage room. Outside, there is a swimming pool combined with a spa tub, a waterfall, and a koi pond.
In early 2021, Damon listed this villa for sale and completed the transaction in November of the same year for 18 million USD. The buyer was Ann Sarnoff, former CEO of Warner Bros.
The 5.5-hectare country estate in Bedford Hills
In June 2022, Damon bought the country estate in Bedford Hills, Westchester County, New York, for 8.5 million USD.
The property is about an hour’s drive from downtown New York City, suitable for short getaways or long-term living outside the city.

The country house was built in 2004, using structures and materials typical of American suburban real estate, with wood-paneled walls, natural stone, and a sloped roof.
Most of the property’s value lies in its landscape. The grounds feature a pond fed by natural springs, small streams, walking paths, a greenhouse, and a treehouse.
Transaction records show that the property was sold for 6.25 million USD in 2011. Damon purchased the estate through a company associated with Pearl Street Films, the production company he co-founded with Ben Affleck.

Penthouse in Brooklyn Heights
In addition to properties spanning thousands of square meters, the actor also invested in luxury apartments for urban stays.
In 2018, Damon spent over 16.7 million USD to buy a penthouse on a high floor of The Standish, a building located in the Brooklyn Heights neighborhood of New York. This transaction set a record for the highest residential price in Brooklyn at that time.
The apartment has an area of about 576 square meters, including 6 bedrooms and living spaces distributed over multiple floors. Compared to a single-floor apartment, the duplex structure allows the owner to separate the guest area, family living area, and bedrooms while maintaining connectivity with an internal staircase.
The apartment’s glass windows open up views of Lower Manhattan, New York Harbor, and the Statue of Liberty. Being on high floors, the apartment receives light from multiple directions and avoids most obstructions from neighboring buildings.

149-square-meter apartment in West Hollywood
In April 2024, Damon bought an apartment on Beverly Boulevard, West Hollywood, for about 8.6 million USD. The transaction marked the actor’s return to Los Angeles, after selling his Pacific Palisades villa three years earlier.
The apartment is located on the 4th floor, spanning about 269 square meters, with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Inside the apartment, white oak flooring is used throughout. Floor-to-ceiling glass windows open up views to the north, facing the Hollywood Hills, while bringing light into the common living area.
The standout space here is a private terrace of nearly 149 square meters. When the glass doors are opened, the living room and terrace form a continuous living area. The outdoor space can accommodate many functions, from a dining table and guest area to gardening.
