Hanoi is seeking investors for two outlet shopping mall projects in Yen Xuan and Phuc Thinh communes.
According to information from the Department of Finance, Hanoi is calling for investment in 14 shopping mall and market projects in the area. Among these, the city wants to find businesses to develop two outlet shopping centers in Yen Xuan and Phuc Thinh communes.
The outlet commercial and service mixed-use area in Yen Xuan commune (formerly part of Thach That district) covers an area of 230 hectares. The preliminary total investment capital for this project is about 2.5 trillion VND. The city has approved the project schedule to be completed by 2030.
Meanwhile, the outlet shopping center project in Phuc Thinh commune (formerly part of Dong Anh district) has an area of over 22 hectares. This project is oriented to become a leading shopping and entertainment destination, gathering many major brands with promotional prices. At the same time, the city also hopes the project will be a commercial and tourism highlight, attracting customers from both inside and outside the region.

In many countries, outlet shopping centers are typically complexes that sell genuine products from major brands, but at prices usually much lower than regular retail stores or for end-of-season/out-of-season fashion items.
Package tourists are also often taken to shop at outlets before the end of each trip. Some developed European countries also plan outlet shopping centers near highways, airports, or suburban areas.
According to the Capital planning with a 100-year vision, Hanoi has also identified 7 additional locations to develop outlet shopping centers. Among them, the outlet in the east of the Capital will be located in Gia Lam (former Duong Xa commune area), the north in Soc Son (former Dong Xuan commune), and the south in Phu Xuyen satellite town.
The western area is planned to have the most outlets in Hanoi, with 4 zones. These outlet shopping centers will be located in Chuong My (former Chuc Son town), Thach That (former Thach Hoa commune), Phuc Tho (former Hiep Thuan and Phung Thuong communes), and Son Tay (former Duong Lam commune).
